A Slice of Summer

Breahna decided to put sunscreen on herself. Do you think she got enough?

Evelyn is our climber. If she wants something she will find a way to climb up and get it:
and don't leave food on the table. Evelyn will take advantage and quickly sneak it:
Our summer consisted of a lot of mud. Our yard is in poor shape and there's a lot of missing grass. This means lots of chances for mud pits. One day I could hear Kaleb in the bathroom. I called out asking him what he needed. I think I need a washcloth. Oh boy, you need more than a washcloth.

some days we played hard and it was tough to stay awake:
a few visits to the splash park and carousel:

Jake's sister Raygan came to visit for a few days. It was a lot of fun having her here:
She was super helpful getting the girls hair done:
I love this girls curly hair!
A few of the fun things we were able to do:
We went to the zoo:
We also got to take Raygan shooting. She took my left handed bow home for her own use:

More summer fun:
Lots of days spent various parks in the area. We found an awesome one that is all kids accessible.

Kaleb got glasses:

We went on another camping trip; this time to Warm River. It was a pretty windy weekend so that dampened the fun a bit.

The first night Evelyn and Breahna were pretty wild and took a long time to settle down. The second night we were surprised when things settled down pretty quick. When we headed to bed ourselves this is the sight that greeted us:
A duh parenting moment; I had left the food bag within her reach. No wonder she was so quiet.
Thankfully she never threw up although she was up a lot whining, which made for a very long night. Jake once commented to his dad; "I don't know how you ever took all five of us kids camping so often". Dad replied; "some trips are good, some are bad, all are memorable".

I love Idaho. The state where it can randomly throw down a huge hail storm in August:
Everyone was fascinated watching this powerful mother nature show:

School Bound:
Kaleb started 2nd grade
Alexander went into kindergarten
and Breahna began preschool (I find it funny that she goes to school for 3 1/2 hours and is given breakfast and lunch. Alexander in kindergarten only goes for 3 hours and doesn't even get a snack)
and just as quickly as it arrived another summer is over.
