Are we done yet?

"I'm baking like a toasted cheeser!"
I know those in UT. are also feeling the heat, but I decided it isn't any fun being 9 months pregnant with 105 degree weather. I realized growing up I was rather spoiled having an air conditioner. Not to mention a genius father who closed everything up during the day and opened it all up at night. Sleeping has been almost non-existent for both of us lately and we're cheering that it's supposed to be only 85 tomorrow! I gave up avoiding the pool and finally had to throw on one of Jake's shirts and shorts, weightlessness is pure bliss! It did look rather funny with me swimming on my back and only my stomach poking up out of the water. Saturday evening we invited some friends over for a BBQ and some swimming. We have the best ward, and we're so grateful for the friends we've made here. For the time being we're just living one day at a time, not much else you can do just sitting around twiddling your thumbs thinking, come on out! I hope I can get a good picture of me and Jake while I'm still pregnant, but, here's some more of the protruding bun in the oven, he's starting to look more oblong football shape rather than basketball. We were able to purchase a new camera and I've been having lots of fun playing with all the new features. Hopefully, for my sanity, I talk to all of you in person sooner than later! I am feeling rather done having a rib spreader inside me - you can't get out that way - stop trying!

treading unknown waters

I decided to follow the crowd and jump on the bandwagon with this seemingly newfangled having a Blog business. It does seem to make things easier for sharing pictures.
Jake and I are 10 days from our expected due date, our step into the unknown waters called 'parenthood' Everyday I think, come on out, I want to meet you! And then I realize, wait, no, stay in! But, after 9 months of being pregnant there is a reason why it is so uncomfortable, so you won't want to stay pregnant forever!
I hope to use this Blog to share our journey into the unknown and keep you updated on the expanded Stevens family (well, this small branch anyway) I'm still figuring things out so everything might be pretty boring for awhile.
Today we met our friend Tanya and her boys at the Santa Monica beach. It was so much cooler and refreshing than being at home. I can't wait to share the joys and wonders of this Earth with our new little guy.
So - here's to swimming upstream!
