Easter was a quiet day with just us 6. We did most of the fun stuff on Saturday:
Evelyn was in such a good mood:
I threw a lot of eggs out in the back yard for the kids to go grab. Each kid not only had a specific color to look for but had the first letter of their name on their eggs. This was I was able to make sure each kid had the exact same amount of everything as each other. Jelly beans, Hershey kisses, taffy, bunny cheese crackers & graham crackers:
We divided everything out when we got in the house. It was a nice treat bag to take to church:
Saturday night I pulled out my glue gun and made the kids their Easter baskets. I used boxes of candy. I suggest, for this to work better, to find similarly sized boxes:
I found an unbelievably incredible deal on Disney DVD's so I was able to grab a lot of the ones we don't have. Jake recently bought himself a bow & arrows. He wanted to also get the boys their own archery set so they could all go out together:
(their Easter haul was better than Christmas!)
morning excitement:
they had to wait for me to make Star Wars buttermilk pancakes so daddy showed them some apps on his new IPad. Kaleb uses one in his therapy and at school. We were able to find several of the same apps he uses; Alexander loved it as well. And Jake found Worms Armageddon for us :-)

her and Evelyn were very sparkly. They left a trail of pixy dust in their wake; a week later we're still finding sparkles in ears and other places:

We had a fancy dinner just for the two of us; technically 6 people, but only two of us eat. Lamb, green beans, rolls, and sparkling cider. We tried an Ethiopian spice called berbere. It's something they use all the time in place of our salt and pepper. We found a recipe and put together our own batch to rub on the lamb. We also made a reduction sauce to pour on the lamb at the table. It was pretty good, not too spicy.
I got the boys a target so they could use their bow in the garage. After dinner they finally got to test out their new bow and arrows.
Alexanders first arrow hit the target. The garage doesn't offer enough length for the arrow to stabilize so they were all hitting the target at an upright angle:

I asked, 'how is it Alexander?'
We're hoping to get me a bow soon. I'm left handed so we're having a hard time finding a shop that has left handed ones in stock for me to try. I'm excited to have a new family activity we can all enjoy together.
It was a very enjoyable and quiet Easter Sunday.
