Paradox

Jake and I had a wonderful past couple days. Quite the paradox of events.
We were able to join our friends for a celebration in honor of Henry. Baby Henry was only with his family for two short weeks before he had to go. It was wonderful getting to know Henry better and hear about his amazing life, although far too short, it was full of joy and love.  After a beautiful ceremony some of our friends joined us for some late lunch/early dinner.  These wonderful people became part of our family while we lived in California and we have missed them dearly.  With sevens boys ages 5 and under and 6 adults we were quite the site.
We are so grateful for our friends.

I had made a quilt for Henry and decided his family still needed it.

The next day we attended an 80th birthday party for Jake's maternal grandpa
Xander loved his cookie for dinner...he ate all the blue frosting.
Shawna and our niece Peyton
I sure married into a great family. I often hear the stories of those who don't like their in-laws. I feel so blessed to have married into an amazing and loving family. I love all of you. Thank you for accepting me into the family and for your love and support in everything,
It is never a boring time spent at the Stevens. This is a family full of love for each other and those around them.
Some seriousness does happen

It felt like a long couple days. We were honored to join in the celebration of two amazing guys; Henry and Grandpa Mc'. Now we are running around preparing for our first family vacation - yipee! I never realized how much work our parents put into our family vacations. Whew, it's a lot of work. Thank you for all your hard work and those memories.
Within about 3 days I made two comforters with covers, for the boys, in place of sleeping bags. 4 pillows, with covers, and finished Henry's quilt.
